Pelvic Pain Conditions
Pelvic Pain/Sexual Difficulty
You are not alone. Your pelvic pain is real; it is not “all in your head” and you deserve to feel heard. You deserve to be offered valid treatment options to make you feel empowered to feel like yourself again.
Unfortunately, many women suffer in silence. When women do seek answers, they end up seeing multiple providers, some who are not familiar with their condition. They will often undergo a variety of testing and procedures. Often testing will come back negative without answers to why they are in pain. Sometimes tests results are positive, but despite completing medical treatment, the pain persists.
It is recommended you seek the care of a physician for your pelvic symptoms to get a thorough work up. Often medical treatment alone is not enough to resolve your symptoms. Pelvic floor physical therapy including a whole body look at your daily habits, diet and emotional well being is often the key to providing long-term success and relief from your pain.
Common diagnoses and symptoms of pelvic pain include:
-
Vulvar, vaginal, clitoral or anal pains
-
Pudendal neuralgia
- Vulvodynia
-
Pain with penetration, during and/or following intercourse
-
Abdominal or groin pain
-
Difficulty wearing tight clothing
-
Pain with sitting
-
Levator ani syndrome
- Constipation
- History of abdominal or reproductive organ surgery
We will listen to your story, tune-in to your intuition as to what you think the cause of your pelvic pain is and then develop an individualized treatment plan. You are more than your pelvic floor, and often treating pelvic pain begins from the outside in.
