I specialize in women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy for women across the lifespan. I take the time to listen to your story, as your story is like no one else’s; nor is your body.
There is not a one-size-fits-all prescription for recovery after birth or for addressing chronic low back and hip pain. Though my passion is the pelvic floor, I take a whole woman approach to care. I will assess your posture, strength, flexibility, but I will also evaluate how you move, what your sleep and eating habits are and most importantly, what your goals are.
Together, we will create a tailored treatment plan and home program for you to reach those goals safely and effectively. Keeping in mind you lead a busy, full life, I will work with you to create a manageable, realistic plan for your lifestyle and goals.
I graduated from The University of New England in 2004 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. I have advanced training in pelvic floor rehabilitation through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, Women’s Health Coaching Certification and Functional Nutrition through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute as well as advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy, chronic pain management and Graston Technique®. I also have more than 10 years experience of setting-up ergonomic and workstations for some of Maine’s largest companies.
I live in Portland and enjoy exploring Maine and beyond with my husband, son and dog, as well as (trying to) grow my urban farm of veggies and chickens.
Koru means new life, growth, strength and peace represented by the spiral shape of a new unfurling fern. Just like the fern, we each have the inner wisdom and ability to heal and grow.
